FAQ
Q. Will this technology be made available for other animals and even
humans?
A. Yes to both questions. PainTrace™ does not actually measure
pain, but rather the way a body responds to pain. This is a consistent
response among mammals, even humans. Currently, thoroughbred racehorses
have been studied and PainTrace™ has been extremely accurate in
distinguishing health from known painful conditions. Other animals,
such as dairy cows that suffer from painful arthritis could benefit
greatly from a veterinarians ability to determine pre-symptomatic pain.
As for humans, the process of getting FDA approval has begun.
Q. Are there any adverse effects to the body when using your product?
(like radiation with an xray?
A. The PainTrace™ device works much like biofeedback devices in
order to measure skin potential (SP), the natural electric charge of
the skin. Our unit emits no electricity, not even a volt. It measures
passively, as in an electrocardiogram. A stick-on disposable electrode
similar to that used for an ECG is placed in the center of each palm.
Lead wires are snapped onto the electrodes and these lead wires are
themselves connected across a resistor box.
