IMMUNE TABS
Immune tabs are the end
result of 37 years of nutrition experience. I have been working extensively with
natural feedstuffs to balance diets for the prevention of metabolic bone
disease, to increase performance and fertility and, in general, to enhance the
overall wellness of the animal. My work
has covered all countries and includes extensive environmental ranch work up
with soil, water, blood chemistries, hair analysis, and nutrient analysis to
address the deficiencies, excesses and toxicities of our food chain.
My work with immune
enhancement began in 1969 with a focus on mineral analysis to solve metabolic
bone disease and fertility problems in brood mare herds. Balancing the
nutrients prevented many of the veterinary problems that I worked with daily.
This work evolved into performance animals, dogs, show animals and horses.
Along the road of preventive medicine I discovered many nutrients with powerful
performance enhancing properties as well as medical value. They would allow me
to use less allopathic medicine in the areas where we had secondary medical
problems from extensive use of traditional medicine.
My experience was with
nutrients such as superoxide dismutase, octocosonol, glucosamines,
chondroitins, methyl sulfanyl methane, boswellic acid, and glacial
montmorillimite. Twenty five years ago I
started extensive use of these products in my nutrition consulting practice.
By carefully balancing the
rations of these products, I developed maintenance and therapeutic levels to
balance nutrients and minimize the usage of traditional medicine, which can
have many adverse side affects.
In 1999 I started working
with immune enhancement products like transfer factors, and unique
heteropolysaccharides such as hybrid cordycepts mushrooms to compliment my
ongoing work. I felt this was truly a breakthrough time in developing the
complete product for nutrition balance and immune function. I always felt we
had to feed the immune system first; then educate, modulate and stimulate the
immune system. I found in my work that an anorexic animal would not respond to
traditional immune enhancement products on the market. Many of these
traditional products had serious side effects. There is basic logic behind what
I call “feeding the army of natural defense” that we have in our immune system
with balanced nutrition first. We must have a medium for the white blood cells
to be effective, which requires balanced and adequate nutrition for the
patient.
WHY IMMUNE TABS
Let us break down the immune
tab label start to finish with reasons for the ingredients, and a brief
explanation why they are present in the total product.
Transfer factors
These tiny polypeptides,
extracted from dairy colostrums and egg yolk, are the educators of the immune
system. We have discovered the “brains of colostrums”: the first milk of the
newborn mammal and egg yolk are loaded with transfer factors which are
educators and modulators of the immune system. The animal is born with a naïve
immune system -- in other words, the newborn immune system does not know what a
virus, bacteria or cancer cell looks like. Transfer factors provide that
valuable information and also inform the system to slow down when it is over-reactive
as in the case of hay fever or asthma.
We developed these peptides further
by creating targeted transfer factors from avian egg. For example, we find specific disease
pathogens like herpes and hyper-immunize the chicken, thus developing the
education in the egg yolk of transfer factors.
By feeding these targeted transfer factors to an animal with a naïve
immune system we are able to educate the immune system to immediately recognize
the pathogen, rather than a delayed immunity which can take 7 to 10 days. This
7 to 10 day window of exposure can be the difference between life and death.
Heteropolysaccharides organic
Heteropolysaccharides are
glucans derived from mushrooms. In my
opinion medical mushrooms are the best kept secret in modern medicine. Nearly
all antibiotics and cancer drugs are derived from mushrooms, not yeast glucans.
Chinese medicine has gleaned the value of medical mushrooms like Cordyceps
sinensis for thousands of years.
Our teams of mycobiologists
have cultivated original strains of cordyceps from the Plateau of Tibet, at
altitudes of over 12,000 feet. These cultures have a patented process for
hybridization, increasing the nucleosides of cordyceptin, adenosine, and
uridine exponentially to well over thirty times the strength of Chinese cordyceps.
I have formulated a
proprietary blend of over 20 mushrooms and strains (e.g., Cordyceps sinensis,
Agaricus blazeii, and Turkeytail to name a few) in their hybrid form along with
concentrations of mushroom extract. Hydrolization
enables us to concentrate the properties of these powerful glucans with up to
fifty times their traditional strength.
We recognize the value of total mushroom, although the extraction and
hybridization process allow us to concentrate the essential wellness properties
of this ancient medicine.
Mannins, Inositol hexaphosphate, phytosterol and olive
leaf.
The catalytic properties of
these polysaccharides and their ability to enhance immune response are well
documented. They act as the fuel of immune enhancement by exciting antigen
processing cells and expediting the immune message to the T Helper cell.
Vitamins organic
The profile of vitamins and
values used are based on a great deal of research. We know the properties of most vitamins but
the ratio is equally important. This is what we emphasize along with levels of
proven anticarcinogens like vitamin D3, and powerful antioxidants like high
levels of Vitamin C and E. Biotin, which
has a history of immune enhancement, is also placed at high levels.
Mineral organic
Minerals are the basis for
bone metabolism and tissue regeneration. Zinc and selenium are proven immune
enhancement minerals not to mention their positive affect on skin health. The
rest of the mineral profile was carefully formulated with over 36 years of
environmental hair analysis used to derive the delicate values.
Montmorillinite glacial deposit.
Montmorillonite is mined form
old rain forests entrapped by glacial deposit. Bioavailability is significantly
improved in montmorillinite from these glacial deposits versus traditional
montmorillonite.
I find these 74 trace
elements are an essential medium for the transfer of nutrients through cell
membranes. Not to mention the intensive farming of our grains has produced a
pet food deficient in mineral balance.
Amino acids.
A balance of the most commonly
deficient amino acids is provided, since commercialization of our food chain
has produced an imbalance in the amino acid profile necessary for immune
health.
Probiotics organic
The gut flora receives daily
challenges from stress, irregular diet, food changes and constant behavior
changes. In recognizing the reservoir of lymph tissue in the gut and its
dependence upon nutrient health for immune response, we provide a high quality
blend of organic probiotics.
Essential fats.
Our fats are derived from the
highest quality of omega
Methylsulfanylmethane
Methylsulfanylmethane is a powerful
anti-inflammatory and sulfur donor. The body has a high percentage of sulfur --
The toe nail and hair follicle, for example, have up to 44,000 parts per
million of sulfur. Sulfur is an essential nutrient for cell metabolism and
immune health.
Glucosamines
My work started with
glucosamines 25 years ago. My primary
focus was working with performance horses and dogs. I found that the type of glucosamine and the
ratio to minerals and vitamins was as important as the amount of glucosamines.
This ratio has to be correct for assimilation through the joint membrane.
All glucosamines are not the
same. Higher amounts does not mean better. I use a source from chicken egg
membrane, rich in glucosamine, hyaluronic acid and aminoglycans, to balance
with our mineral, vitamin and chondroitin profile.
Chondroitin.
I have worked with all
chondroitin sources on performance and joint arthritic animals. In my opinion
the most effective is perna canniculus derived from green lip mussel. I feel
the inherent kytin provides a synergistic affect to this form of chondroitin
sulfate.
Boswellic acid
I use this pain reliever for its safety.
Boswella mimics the affect of morphine by acting upon the same pathways. Tolerance levels are very high. Boswella is
derived from the
Super oxide dismutase
Early literature showed that
this powerful antioxidant could replicate the affect of cortisone or the
powerful pain reliever butazolidin at 60 to70% on an
equal dosage. I have had very good success with toxic nutrient overloads using
high levels of super oxide dismutase.
Octocolsonol
This wheat germ extract has a
long history of reducing chronic fatigue. Work done in 1934 pointed out that as
little as one milligram given to navy seal military personnel increased energy
17% before fatigue. My experience with race horses and senior dogs and cats has
been very rewarding by using levels of octocosonol for nutritional support.
Why organic
I strive to formulate as much
from organic sources as possible. This formula is pending organic certification
by the National Organic Program and the Organic Materials Review Institute.
I have been an organic kiwi
farmer as a hobby for over 30 years. This has provided me the experience to realize
and appreciate the nutrient density of organic foods. For example 30 bushels per acre of dry land
corn has 29 ppm of selenium compared to irrigated high production corn
producing 150 bushels per acre has 11 PPM. I find this same ratio holds true in
our foods today with all minerals. Higher production means lower nutrient
density. I feel this is the main reason
for a high quality organic based immune supplement like Immune Tabs.
Additionally, I am concerned
that we have a toxic food chain that causes many of the disease problems in
animals today. The powerful combination of nutrients presented in Immune Tabs
is designed to address disease etiology from the stress on our pets, and nutrient
dependency from our less then perfect food chain.
Encapsulation
My research has shown that
the peptides we derive from colostrums and ova are very sensitive to
gastrointestinal activity as well as environmental factors. Both glucans and
peptides experience significant deterioration as a result of exposure to sunlight,
heat, stomach flora and acids. We have wrapped these sensitive nutrients in a
lipid coating for protection allowing us greater efficacy in absorption.
Research
When I introduced Immune Tabs
as a wellness product, I sent an evaluation sheet along with each end user. To
date we have used product on thousands of dogs over the past six years. Most
are terminal cancer patients -- senior dogs with benign tumors that the client
does not want to subject to anesthetic – and many are early arthritic dogs and
dogs with early signs of lenticular schlerosis.
The product has also found a strong presence in the performance dog
arena – including hunting dogs, agility dogs and Iditarod runners.
Some of my most rewarding
calls are from people that just want a few more months with a terminally ill
patient. I call it a soft landing with little allopathic medical intervention.
To date I would say we have
80% success in remission of benign tumors and 40% success in partial to total
remission of malignant cancer.
I receive calls from
veterinarians increasing the efficacy of cancer treatment. This stands to
reason since we raise natural killer cells over 450%. That accompanied with the
safe pain relief and nutrient support of immune tabs allows more latitude in
treatment.
Many of my patients have had
serious side effects from traditional cortisone levels creating Cushing’s
disease, antibiotic resistance and dysentery problems with traditional pain
relievers.
Hunting and performance dogs
have more residual energy and less disease after strenuous workouts.
A frequent comment form
senior dog owners is the eyes and ears are clearing up, the dog moves better, the
coat is much better. A client might say,
“I used to help him into the car, now he jumps into the back seat.”
I will include an average
score sheet of my evaluation form. From several hundred dog
owners and a few of their comments.
I like to close with my
favorite quote that “nutrition is the
science of health. Medicine is the science of disease”
Sincerely,
Joe Ramaekers
