PST-Vet™ Equine Pulsed Signal Therapy

PST - Vet Equine Extremity Unit

We are pleased to announce the availability of PST-Vet™ Equine Pulsed Signal Therapy. The product is now available for sale or lease to licensed veterinarians and certified equine physical therapists.

PST- Vet Equine has been undergoing rigorous testing for almost two years by the therapists of Equine Therapy Inc. in Lexington, KY under the leadership of Mimi Porter as well as in Europe. The list of injuries successfully treated with PST includes fractures of the pelvis and the second metacarpal as well as fractures of the proximal sesamoids, osteoarthritis of the femoral tibial joint and of the spine, bowed tendons, desmitis of the suspensory ligament, cervical instability, collateral ligament injuries, sesamoiditis, and carpal physitis.

We are in the process of compiling some very impressive data on the use of PST. I say “we” but it has really been Mimi Porter, Monica Martins and Katie Moore of Equine Therapy, Inc. in Lexington, KY. They have been working with the major equine practices in the Lexington area such as Rood and Riddle and Hagyards treating mostly thoroughbreds for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions for about two years and have compiled dozens of cases. They are starting to compile this information into a book of case studies.

"Below are ultrasound scans of a thoroughbred filly that had a very large bowed tendon, an injury to the Superficial Digital Flexor Tendon of the right front leg. This injury had existed since April '07 without improvement. PST was started on June 18, '07. On July 09, the tendon looks to be healed. This represents a 21 day recovery time, a speed record. This rather large filly is back in race training and has raced twice now without incident.” – Mimi Porter

Be sure to view the PowerPoint. The images look even more impressive when you scan through them.

June 18, 2007 – PST Treatment begins.

July 9, 2007 – 21 Days later including the nine PST treatments.

Having sold Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) for equine use and PST-Vet for small animal for almost four years, it is my experience that PST is kinder, gentler and most important, a much more effective therapy than ESWT. In addition, PST is extremely easy to administer and the therapy can easily be performed by the horse owner under the direction of the veterinarian, technician or therapist. Unlike ESWT where improper use can cause harm to the animal, it is virtually impossible to injure an animal with PST.

PST-Vet Equine is available in two models. One for extremities with interchangeable applicators and another, more powerful unit for the spine and hips.

As with the PST-Vet Small Animal devices, we also have a 90-day Clinical Trial Program whereby a deposit is paid and either unit is sent along with 20 chip treatment cards. At the end of the 90-days, the deposit is credited toward the purchase.

We are accepting advance orders. Supply is limited, so please contact me immediately if interested. – Joe Thompson joe@mtavet.com or call 866-311-1303 ext. 244
